Submersible Pumps

A submersible pump is an air-tight sealed motor close-coupled to the pump body. The main advantage of this type of pump is that it prevents pump cavitation, a problem associated with a high elevation difference between pump and fluid surface. A submersible pump never requires priming as the whole assembly is submerged in the fluid. Submersible pumps are very efficient because they spend less energy moving water into the pump, the water pressure pushes the water into a submersible pump, thus “saving” a lot of the pump’s energy.
